K01 Custom Dog Kennel

A better den, built like our furniture.

01

Frame

A raised reclaimed-oak frame, joined with wedged mortise and tenon, no screws to wobble loose over a dog's lifetime.

02

Slats

Vertical slats with 13 mm gaps keep air moving on hot afternoons while the dog still feels den-like and enclosed.

03

Roof

A gently pitched solid roof sheds weather and lifts off for cleaning, two hidden pegs, no tools.

04

Finish

Pet-safe hardwax oil, a chew-proof door trim in blackened steel, and a washable bouclé bed that decompresses and stays put.

05

Sizes

Four sizes, scaled to the dog, not to a template. Tell us the breed and we confirm fit before we cut a single board.

Where it lives

A kennel your living room doesn't mind.

Most crates are exiled to the garage. The K01 is built and finished like a sideboard, so it earns its place next to the sofa, which is exactly where your dog wants to be anyway. Outdoor placement is available by special request, in cedar with a weather-rated finish.

  • Finished on all four sides, so it can float in a room
  • Slatted fronts read as furniture, not fencing
  • Rubber feet protect oak and walnut floors
  • Cedar option for covered outdoor spots, by request

“The dog doesn't know it's reclaimed oak from a storm-felled tree. She just knows it's hers.”

Marcus Yang · K01 Large, Grass Valley

What owners say.

Our dog destroyed two big-box crates before this. The kennel looks like furniture, and she actually chooses to sleep in it.
Marcus Yang · K01 Kennel, Large · Grass Valley
It sits in the living room like a sideboard. Guests don't realize it's the dog's house until she walks in and curls up.
Dana Whitmore · K01 Kennel, Medium · Auburn
The fit check saved us. We were about to order Large and they talked us down to Medium. He has room to turn and nothing more, exactly like they said.
Chris Delgado · K01 Kennel, Medium · Sacramento
Two huskies, two XLs, three years. The floors are fine, the finish is fine, and the dogs think we built them a duplex.

Fair questions.

Measure your dog nose to tail base and floor to head sitting up, then add about 4 in to each. That's your minimum interior. Or skip the math: send us the breed and measurements and we do the fit check for free before we cut anything.

Yes. We use plant-based hardwax oils, the same class of finish used on cutting boards, cured for two full weeks before the kennel ships. There's no film to flake and nothing toxic to ingest.

The standard K01 is finished for indoor use. For covered outdoor spots we build it in Western Red Cedar with a weather-rated finish, by special request. Tell us the placement and we'll confirm the spec.

The roof lifts off with two hidden pegs, the bed zips out for the wash, and the oiled interior wipes down with a damp cloth. Most owners do a full clean in under ten minutes.

It happens rarely, but it happens. Talk to us within 30 days: we'll help with placement and settling-in, and if the dog truly refuses it, we take the kennel back into the showroom and consign it forward.
